The European Pear Pyrus communis is a species of pear native to central and eastern Europe and
southwest Asia. The European pear is thought to be descended from two species of wild pear,
categorized as P. pyraster and P. caucasica

About the Wood

Good suitability for woodcarving. Inclined to warp when dried. Will split if dried too quickly.
Difficult to get straight grained pieces without knots .
