The Sawmill at Lisnavagh - the Blackstone Engine

The Blackstone Engine is seen in action here. It was originally installed in about 1930. To give a sense of scale, the flywheel is about 6 feet in daimeter. When the single oil engine is started, one gets a true sense of the magnificence of good engineering and one the machine comes to life as a thing of beauty.
