Introduction
The Lisnavagh Timber Project (LTP) grows, sources, conditions and supplies fully traceable home-grown Irish hardwood timber, from sustainable resources, to Ireland's furniture makers, woodworkers and homeowners.

The Timber Project is one of several enterprises based at Lisnavagh (a one thousand acre family owned estate near Rathvilly in the north of Co Carlow). The potential for these enterprises is considerable and a very tangible growth in business is now being experienced.

As a result, a dynamic full time Assistant Manager for the Lisnavagh Timber Project is now required. This is a new position which will grow with the business over the coming years.

The main responsibilities include:

" obtaining hardwood logs (from Lisnavagh and all around the country)

" handling enquiries
" handling sales
" liaising with our joiner(s)
" occasional joinery work
" invoicing
" managing a database
" loading/unloading kiln(s) and monitoring MCs
" marketing
" attending fairs & shows

Requirements
Applicants are not required to have experience in all of these fields, but a reasonable understanding of wood, the ability to sell products and some computer skills will be necessary.

Applicants will need to have good initiative, open minds and a pro-active approach. Communication skills are important.

Applicants must have a driving licence and their own transport. Usually a vehicle will be available, but otherwise a mileage allowance will be paid for any journeys undertaken for work purposes.

Hours & Holidays
Hours of work are 0900 to 1700 Monday to Friday and 1000 to 1500 on Saturdays, with an hour off for lunch each day. From time to time, it may be necessary to work outside these hours (evenings or weekends). The position comes with four weeks holiday per year.

Salary
The annual salary will be €27,000 to €32,000 according to experience and suitability.

This position offers a good variety of interesting work at Lisnavagh. Elsewhere on the estate, a number of other enterprises are also expanding. A growing number of individuals and businesses at Lisnavagh are thriving on good teamwork, in a good location and in a happy working atmosphere.
