Assistant Manager required for expanding
business supplying Irish hardwood timber -immediate start

Introduction
The Lisnavagh Timber Project (LTP) grows, sources, conditions
and supplies fully traceable home-grown Irish hardwood timber,
from sustainable resources, to Ireland's furniture makers,
woodworkers and homeowners.
The Timber Project is one of several enterprises based at
Lisnavagh (a one thousand acre family owned estate near Rathvilly
in the north of Co Carlow). The potential for these enterprises
is considerable and a very tangible growth in business is
now being experienced.
As a result, a dynamic full time Assistant Manager for the
Lisnavagh Timber Project is now required. This is a new position
which will grow with the business over the coming years.
Responsibilities
The main responsibilities include:
" obtaining hardwood logs (from Lisnavagh and all around
the country)
" managing stock levels
" arranging sawmilling
" handling enquiries
" handling sales
" liaising with our joiner(s)
" occasional joinery work
" invoicing
" managing a database
" loading/unloading kiln(s) and monitoring MCs
" marketing
" attending fairs & shows
Requirements
Applicants are not required to have experience in all of these
fields, but a reasonable understanding of wood, the ability
to sell products and some computer skills will be necessary.
Applicants will need to have good initiative, open minds
and a pro-active approach. Communication skills are important.
Applicants must have a driving licence and their own transport.
Usually a vehicle will be available, but otherwise a mileage
allowance will be paid for any journeys undertaken for work
purposes.
Hours & Holidays
Hours of work are 0900 to 1700 Monday to Friday and 1000 to
1500 on Saturdays, with an hour off for lunch each day. From
time to time, it may be necessary to work outside these hours
(evenings or weekends). The position comes with four weeks
holiday per year.
Salary
The annual salary will be €27,000 to €32,000 according
to experience and suitability.
This position offers a good variety of interesting work at
Lisnavagh. Elsewhere on the estate, a number of other enterprises
are also expanding. A growing number of individuals and businesses
at Lisnavagh are thriving on good teamwork, in a good location
and in a happy working atmosphere.
